Dr. Kylin
An architect by training, an investor by practice. Kylin has bought, renovated and run more than ten buildings of her own in Tokyo, where she has worked for over fifteen years.
Why an architect makes a better buyer
Kylin holds a PhD in architecture from Tokyo Tech and has lived in Tokyo for more than fifteen years. Before founding her own company she designed and developed property for Daiwa House, GARDE and the Mitsubishi Estate group. Today her company owns more than ten buildings in Tokyo, and she helps overseas buyers and investment teams buy, finance and run property in Japan.
Her doctoral research at Tokyo Tech used spatial analysis to study how buildings shape the way people live in them, and she has published peer-reviewed papers with the Architectural Institute of Japan. In practice, that means she can tell from the drawings what a building will cost to run, what it can become, and what the seller has not mentioned.
